No, bro. mustard tu sejenis sawi lor. But I guess you can say it's more ori.

You see, the sawi and family that we all know today takde in the wild. The plants were cross-bred thru tissue culture, mostly by Chinese farmer, since our nenek-moyang days.

the kailan type is the older type. I don't actually recommend kailan here because they are difficult to grow organically. The job of organicsaytur.com is to help people make their gardens produce organic food EASILY.

Woody? Not enough nitrogen and watering.

If you want to try again, use wormorganics and fortify with Ah wong's tahi kambing. Tapi kena proses dulu. Dig a hole about one feet deep. Put in some of his tahi kambing. You might as well throw in a few handfuls of towfoo to increase the nitrogen explosion. Timbus the thing properly with at least 5 inches of sand. Don't let flies lay eggs. Allow only anaerobic microbes to bantai the barang.

One week later, take it out and mix it into WormOrganics. Leave for another week. Then plant the mustard seeds again. Making sure you water it at least twice a day everytime you have the chance. Mid-morning around 10am after the morning dew evaporates and evening around 6pm just before the sun goes off. The leaves will grow large with elongated cells, thereby being more tender.

I teach you more later lah. This one all sifu level techniques, which I want to write up and put here, but no time yet.

Coming down to KL in a few weeks. Since you are my bestest friend, I want to build an organic vegetable bed for you for free. But you help me show off your organic sayur ok? And my Ju request for your organic curry ayam. If possible, disclose your recipe also. ;o)

How to plant da? I used to scatter Mustard seeds, yang orang masak kari ikan punya in a planter box. The Malays call it biji sawi. Guess what? It grew into some alien type of kai lan but tasted ok, though somewhat tough and woody. Case of wrong seeds?
